We offer the full range of accountancy services for clients in and around Bristol as well as further afield.
From individuals, contractors and sole traders to start-ups, SMEs and Limited companies, we can tailor our services to fit your needs.
The services that we offer include:
Taxation
Self Assessment Tax Return
A comprehensive service is available to individuals in respect of their personal and business income from all sources
including PAYE, dividends, interest, pensions, profit share etc. with the aim of maximising your cash flow and minimising your tax liability.
Different rules of calculation apply to each source of income.
Corporation Tax
A Limited Company is required to pay Corporation Tax. We can complete the form on your behalf, file it with HMRC and advise as to payment terms.
Tax Planning
We can assist you with tax planning to ensure that you take advantage of the tax reliefs, exemptions and allowances that are available to claim.
We can help with any issues that arise with HMRC over penalties,
interest or errors.
Business Accounts
Whatever type of business you are, you will need financial information concerning that business. For a Limited company the details are set down by law and a form of accounts is kept at Companies House.
We will prepare your annual accounts in accordance with your needs and all the statutory or regulatory requirements that pertain to them. This can be done irrespective of the method in which you keep your records. We will ensure that all allowable expenses are claimed, even when not specifically referred to by you.
To enable you to make informed decisions about the running of your business, we can explain the information in the accounts and give information on certain performance indicators. This could include the percentage of your turnover incurred in expenses to run the business, increases in turnover or expenses, level of debtors (money owed to your business), dividend payments etc. We do not just prepare your accounts; we explain what it all means.
We also deal with ‘rental’ accounts and can help with the special rules that relate to the preparation of such accounts
New Business and Company Secretarial Services
We can help you make that important decision on whether to operate your new business as a ‘sole trader’, ‘partnership’ or ‘limited company’, by explaining the various implications, advantages and disadvantages.
For a Limited Company:
(a) Selection of a name and completing all the paperwork to become incorporated with Companies House, with our convenient packages;
(b) Undertaking all the legal paperwork – forms and filing, to include statutory books and accounts, confirmation statements, drafting minutes of meetings and dividend paperwork.
VAT
VAT is paid to HMRC in respect of goods/services provided to your customers less VAT on those purchases/expenses incurred in providing such goods and services.
VAT regulations are very complex and change constantly. It is vital to get the VAT calculations correct as penalties and other serious consequences can arise from HMRC, as well as the cash flow of your business being adversely affected. There are also several rates of VAT.
We can provide advice and assistance in relation to the following:
• Registration for VAT, including cases where registration is optional;
• The most appropriate VAT scheme for you – cash/accruals, standard/flat rate;
• Preparation of your VAT return, submission to HMRC and advice as to payment terms;
• If your VAT Returns are calculated by an accounting/bookkeeping package that you use, then we can check the accuracy of your VAT return before the final submission to HMRC.
Payroll
Businesses will require a payroll function when employing staff and electronic submissions must be made to HM Revenue & Customs on or before pay day. We can make this process easier for you, by accurately calculating pay and deductions from pay, preparing wage slips and making Real Time Information submissions on your behalf.
Online Services
Ultimately, we know that when it comes to accountants Bristol has a fair few, so if we can provide you with a brilliant service, that could cut costs and give you some time back towards your business or your family then wouldn’t that be a good thing to do?
As a client you could soon be benefiting from our Online Accounting service, which aims to cut out time-consuming meetings and phone calls about your business accounts. We are a Xero partner and this means that we can help you select the right Xero package to suit your needs and provide ongoing accounting support as and when you request it.
The service will allow you to securely access and edit your accounts online in the cloud, get access to support and avoid time consuming meetings or phone calls – it is squarely aimed at SME's, sole traders and newly formed companies.
In 2015 HMRC announced plans for a digital taxation system involving all businesses maintaining their accounting records in a digital format. Full details of how the scheme will work and the obligations involved are still not finalised, but it is intended to cover the majority of businesses by 2020 and therefore having the right solution has never been more important.
